New York silversmith - Judaica - maker identification 1950's

I would like to identify the maker of a sterling kiddush cup (Judaica) marked "Hand Made by Peter" It is not stamped with a makers mark but rather scratched into the foot. It was purchased in New York in the mid- 1950's. Style is very similar to the modernist Ludwig Wolpert. I wonder if "Peter" was a student of Wolpert. Any info would be appreciated.
