Need good resource for identifying pieces, please

Postby fergigirl » Wed Jun 15, 2011 3:11 pm

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this forum today. I am searching for a good resource to help me identify 2 pieces I own.
One I believe is Reed & Barton lidded cocktail shaker. Date mark indicates that it was manufactured in 1939, but there are 2 sets of numbers between the R&B words and the little flower symbol & I don't know what those numbers mean? Does anyone know where I might locate that information?

The other I believe is a plated water pitcher by International Silver Co.
There is an arched symbol which reads Meriden SPCO across the top, International S CO on the bottom and has some bird picture in the middle. The numbers on bottom are 965.

I'm not asking for an appraisal, just wondering if anyone knows of a good resource for investigating those numbers. Many thanks!
