swedish marks

Postby wireclan » Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:26 am

Good morning to all
I am a new member to this site and i have a question regarding specifically swedish hallmarking.
i am a fan of swedish silverware and frustrated for not having found the appropriate references or litterature regarding this topic.
i have gone through all the site including the forums, and was not able to find much info about the subject, contrary to the danish or norwegian that is more detailed.
there are no listed makers mark, nor detailed city marks, all i could find was a link to swedac that did not help either.
only the forums provided some info
and i wonder why,
are the sweds less important or do they not have enough important silversmiths?
thanks in advance for any helpull response.

The information on this site is public information. Some has collected and published danish marks. Swedish are documented in books. Post picture of item and mark then you can get assistance. Or buy the book "Svensk Silversmide 1520-1850" That book dokument all swedish silversmiths - In Denmark less than half of the marks are dokumentet i Bøje (3 different books).
So sweden is dokumented.
