Date problem on Russian sites

Postby Qrt.S » Tue Sep 14, 2010 8:55 am

Why are the threads not in increasing order by date and newest on/top/first. Today I made an entry in this thread: "84 hallmark on cloisonne piece of jewellery" but look where it is. It is thread number 9 between 22.8.and 29.8 ????

The same goes for the thread "Soviet silver marks". It is also in the "wrong" place.

It's impossible to find or follow up anything if the newest entry is not on top meaning that the dates must be in increasing order.

Just wondering????

Hi Qrt.S,

Ah, but they are in the right order. The posts that you mention would have been moved when they were first posted into their correct forums eg. single image, jewellery etc. If you look at the original forum where they were posted, you will see an arrow by the post.

????? I'm sorry Trev, I'm lost know. How can they be in correct order when the "84..."message with my insert made today to day 14.9 is located between the dates 26.8-29.8, when it should be on top of the list. The newest replies should always be on top of course irrespective of is it a moved topic or not. What has that to do with it? I still don't understand your logic.

According to that a moved topic is "frozen" on a fixed place and never moving to the top or anywhere when it's answered as it should????? That would mean that if I for some reason like to answer a very old topic (and it happen to be a moved one) my answer would stay far away from the top. Who's gonna see or find my reply?

I await your answer and after that I'll probably make a test and "reply" a moved topic and then we'll see what will happen.

Rgds

Hi Qrt.S,

As can be seen below, your answer has pushed the topic to the top of the correct forum.

Ahaaaaa! Now I have learned something new. I thought that a moved topic will remain where it was moved but instead it in a way "jumps" back to its place of origin, Yeeesssssssss! (newer noticed it before)

Sorry for bothering you and thanks Trev, case clear.
