I am having a good deal of trouble utilizing the private messages. The Find a Member function does not work (selecting someone and hitting 'Select Marked' simply clears the selection). Once the message (new or a reply) is done and I hit send, it lands in my outbox and sits there, unsent. Is there some time lag?

It will remain in your outbox untill it has been read by receiver.
I have had same problem.
