LaTEMA Info?

Post by Aguest »

:::: Sometimes you can discover a Gorham sterling silver knife handle with a metal alloy blade marked "LaTEMA" which appears to be a shiny metal alloy of some kind and not at all silver-plated. :::: Was this "LaTEMA" name a company name or just the name of the metal alloy itself? :::: Was "LaTEMA" trademarked by Gorham? :::: There seems no information about "LaTEMA" other than it is found on early 20th century Gorham knives and it seems to be a metal alloy ant not silver-plate, that's basically all the information I could find. ::::::::

This was, of course, Sheffield’s Harry Brearley's discovery in 1913.
