Emblem/logo query

Post by markbarwell »

Hi,
I found this old spoon in a cemetery in Brighton, UK and think I've managed to identify it as a nickel silver spoon (XNS standard?) from Cooper Bros of Sheffield. The thing that's intriguing me is the design on the other side - looks like a company logo or some such but I can't seem to identify it. Does anyone have any ideas?
My "need to know" needs to know!

Also, any further details of a rough age would be appreciated. I know it's not worth anything but the historical context is intriguing me. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

That's the logo of the ABC Cinema chain:

From memory, the XNS mark indicates the later part of WWII manufacture.

XNS was the official wartime marking for un-plated nickel-silver.
