MH monogram identification, possibly Serbian

Post by Miodrag »

It is on a creamer called "conique ovale", silver plated, made by Christofle around 1920. It is probably Latin "MH", but also maybe Cyrillic "MN". Creamer was found in some Serbian village, no idea how it ended up there.

Hi,
MH interlocked can be in both alphabets.Sometimes even royal cyphers are not easy to identify, nobility monograms with a crown are practically impossible to recognize, and let alone simple monograms.
In a word, give up searching unless there is positive link of the item to a particular family, i.e.a reliable provenance.
