Good Day
I have bought a Walker and Hall spoon today. It has a crest on it that I would like to decipher. Any idea of the age of the spoon will be welcome aswell. I know the X is a date letter.
Thanks
Jannie

Hi Jannie,
The date is 1905. It is the Greek letter 'Chi', the Walker & Hall date cycle 1884-1911 uses the Greek alphabet.

Thank you for helping me with the date. Now I will try the crest. It is a CN with 2 dragons next to it.

The China Navigation Company crest, with the Swire group and Swire family motto, Esse Quam Videri – it has been in use by the Swire family since the 18th century. Literally translated, it means “to be, and not to seem to be”.
Walker & Hall were major suppliers to shipping companies and other commercial concerns throughout the world.
Paul.
