Hello,

Does anyone recognise this family crest? I believe the ladle to be 18th - 19th century and probably has a whale bone handle. There are no hallmarks, and no areas that look like they may have been rubbed away. Although rubbing is quite possible as it has been tested as sterling silver. I have been reading a few pages and have found some families that had similar crests although not exact.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

I find it curious that this type of ladle is sometimes not hallmarked, I have seen them with a silver English coin in the bowl without hallmarks, and although I am not sure of the reason for this, it is almost certainly English, there seems to be some sort of loophole here, not quite sure what it is, but if you spend enough time searching for examples of this form, it sometimes appears without hallmarks :::
