Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your fob was assayed at Glasgow in 1897. The maker was David F. Turnbull.

David Turnbull was found dead at his Sydney court, Argyle street, Glasgow workshop in mysterious circumstances in 1912.

See: Some Macabre Stories of the Silver Trade

Hopefully someone may recognise the meaning of the crest on your fob.

Trev.

Looks like a nice, good standard fob but not rare, although the silversmith died under mysterious circumstances which could enhance its collecting value.
It could be interesting to find out some more about the family crest and I have moved you to the Crest section. A clear image of the fob and crest could be helpful.

Oel.
