I was wondering if anyone could help me with anymore information on this salt? I'm guessing it's London (Half a Panther Head) and Stirling (Lion Rampant). Confirmation of this would be awesome. Any ideas about the maker? The date letter is basically non-existant, however any help with that would be wonderful! :) Cheers, Edward

Looking through the marks l have on CD all l can find is 1758 and "salt" there is no name.
In "Grimwades" there is a very similar mark under the "unregistered" marks attributed to George Rous (with a question mark) this makers mark was found on a cream jug in 1758 and on salt cellars in 1759 and 1762.
Looking at your item the age looks right and the date of the makers and the items the mark was found on a fair chance this could be right
