Perhaps one of the non-illustrated marks of Thomas Stackhouse , smallworker, although most had pellets, or an entry in the lost register . Stackhouse entered his last recorded mark in 1738 but he would only have been about 45 when the lost smallworkers register commenced.
Another possibility is Thomas Simons. An entry in the Smallworkers Register on 19 April 1773 gives Simons as a bucklemaker near Holywell Mount , Shoreditch and states " Note that this is only an Extract of the Entry of his mark in the former Mark Book". No mark is given but he is probably the only silversmith that we know for certain had a mark in the lost smallworkers register !
The Baptism and Marriages at St Georges Chapel, Mayfair refer to a Thomas Simons, bucklemaker of St James , Clerkenwell on 28 September 1729, presumably his marriage or the baptism of one of his children. This may be the same man, his father or be totally unrelated
