hallmarks

Postby tbournemouth » Sat Jun 23, 2007 8:13 am

Good afternoon all,

I'm not sure where this request should go but let me try here.

What do the following 4 hallmarks on one modern ornament mean:- JP, 925, CIRCLE WITH 4 RADIATING ARMS, CAPITAL SCRIPT A

Thanks.

JP= Maker/sponsor's mark (I don't know who)

925 = sterling silver

Does the third mark look like this?

If so it's the London Assay Office import mark.

Script A is most probably 1975.

Yes, the third mark is exactly as your photo shows.

Thanks both for your input.

I am amazed at this item a Lorne Mckean small horse that weighs 625gms!
