Puzzling punching

Post by amena »

I found this punching on the internet.
There is something strange: the two marks at the sides are British, but the central ones I would say are Maltese. Or am I wrong?
In particular the R indicates the Roman standard, which is less than the Britannia standard.

How do you explain it?

What a blunder! Nothing to do with Malta.
Don't worry, it's not on the market.
Thanks a lot.
