Sword with Alston Mountainer Rifles etched on it

Hi All
Looking for information on this sword that was handed down to me when my father passed away many years ago. It has Alston Mountainer Rifles etched on it as well as W. Jones & Co. 236 Regents St London on it. It is 24 inches in length and what looks like a lion's head on the top of the hilt.
Any information would greatly be appreciated.
