help with hallmark on Scottish bagpipes

Postby jted003 » Mon Sep 29, 2014 5:51 pm

Hi, I am new to the forum and don't yet know how to attach a photo. I have recently been bequeathed a set of Granger and Campbell bagpipes with what I believe are sterling silver slides. Each slide is stamped with the letters P.H. inside a rectangle followed by a lion rampant inside a shield and finally with a 'fancy' letter p inside a four sided 'cloud' shape. Based on this description, could anyone please help me identify the year of the hallmark and the manufacturer. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help with the picture Oel. This is the picture of the hallmark on
the slide of one of the drones on the bagpipes. Can anyone
suggest a date. I believe the city is Glasgow. Thanks Image
