Help. 'B E S Co' Hallmark?

Just acquired a silver salver (photo is strange colour I know), with this set of marks.
The 'B E S Co' is a mystery, I assume it is Birmingham region but I havent seen the anchor with CC before.
and I can't establish the year?



If anyone could help me with this it would be much appreciated.

Those are Birmingham hallmarks for 1973.
The year 1973 seems to be the only year when they had the C's on each side of the anchor.
Maybe our British members can tell us what it signifies?

The BE over S Co mark was used by Barker Ellis.

That's the mark used in 1973 to commemorate the bi-centenary of the Birmingham Assay Office.

C stands for Centum ( a hundred) in latin language, of course.
Hence Centurion, military leader in charge of a hundred
of legionnairies in ancient Rome.
