Hi

The marks seem oddly shaped - were you taking the photograph on an angle? In any case, the Lion Passant is "being naughty" and facing right (or rearing up), which would tend to indicate that the piece is not English Sterling Silver. However, the marks look similar. Perhaps pseudo marks.....hmmmm....or Colonial? A right teaser. Its certainly not English. Can anyone assist?

Hello Waylander

thank you very much for all your replies.

As for the candlesticks, they were bought in the 60's, so your indication fits perfectly.

I suspected the coffee set to be strangely marked... but not being an expert, I hoped it would be a special British hallmarking and easy to decyfer.

Now I have to try and find where it comes from !

Best regards

François

Checked my Canadian, Australian and Colonial India references, but no luck.

It's been a couple of years since this one was bumped.

Any thoughts?

Trev.
