Help with silver marks on small cup

Post by Nigel T. »

Hello everyone. This excellent web site has a wealth of information but unfortunately l cannot find any that helps me identify the origin, maker and date of this little cup. I recall buying it at an antiques fair in the UK over 10 years ago but was not given any information about it at the time other than being Scandinavian?
Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

You couldn't be much further away from the country of origin. It's South African.

Wow....wasn't sure if it was a deer or a stag as the first mark but suppose it is a reebok?
Any idea as to age/ maker?
Nice to see his"brother" .....pic from the Internet?
Thanks for your prompt help.

Hi Nigel,

Yes, indeed, it is a springbok. I'm not sure where the images came from, they've been on file a long time and I came across them while unsuccessfully trying to find the maker for you.

The date letter, the 'S', appears to represent 1992.
