Spoons by William Innes of Tain

Post by dcolter »

I have 3 spoons that appear to have the marking by William Innes of Tain.
I would like to know the approximate date these would have been made, but cannot find any info about this silversmith.

A little more detail regarding William Innes, after a few years working in Glasgow in the late 1820's he set up business in Tain in partnership with Richard Maxwell Wilkie, trading as Innes & Wilkie as from around 1830. The partnership did not last long and appears to over by 1834. He then set up business on his own account, and thus your spoons can be dated from after 1834.
