Unascribed Wessex trefid spoon?

Post by mk209 »

I have this trefid spoon that has the same mark in Jackson’s in the Wessex unascribed section. Jackson’s shows a seal top spoon of Circa 1640. My spoon has an etched date of 1687. The silversmith DR must of had a reasonably long career if my spoon is of the etched date? I’m surprised if this is the case that more spoons have not turned up but cannot find reference to any others. Obviously there may be many in collections.

Interested in others opinions on this spoon.
