Postby juantotree » Fri Mar 09, 2018 4:17 am

Hi

Can anybody help me identify the marks on this cup, one looks like a thistle so maybe some Scottish connection?

Many Thanks

According to Jackson's guide, it is an as of yet unattributed Yorkshire silversmith. The mark in the book is almost exactly the same except it has the SS crown mark twice and no thistle mark. The same marks were found on a communion cup and flagon dated 1690 which would correspond to the same period as your cup.
