AF - Three Turrets - Rampant Unicorn

A tablespoon, just over 8" (20.5cm) in length. Hanoverian pattern with a shallow central rib along the stem and a double drop to the bowl.

Alexander Forbes was apprenticed to George Walker at Aberdeen in c. 1720. His indentures were transferred to Walker's son, John, a couple of years later. Forbes was elected Burgess to the Aberdeen Hammermen in 1728 and Deacon in 1734. He died in 1753.

One apprentice of Alexander Forbes that was noted was William Charles. Charles was formerly indentured to the Aberdeen silversmith George Robertson, but Robertson died in 1727 and Charles's indentures were transferred to Alexander Forbes in that same year.
