Undistinguishable Marks on c.1800 Teaspoon

Postby Granmaa » Wed Nov 16, 2011 12:27 pm

Does anyone have any ideas on this c.1800 Old English Thread teaspoon? I'm not even sure if the marks are proper shapes or letters.

Hi Miles,

They look like Scottish tinker's marks to me. Itinerant silversmiths that wandered from town to town.

Hi Trev,

That's what I had feared. No hope of identifying who made it and where it was made. A shame because it's a really nice spoon.
