This old Sgian Dubh was past on by my great grandmother. It is about 4 1/2 - 5" long.

This is what I beleive the marks to be:

Initials:TE
The three stamps: Thistle, Castle, Cursive F.

My question is, who's makers mark is TE?

How old is it?

The black material appears to be and feels like a very hard wood. There is a grain to upper and lower pieces.

Here is an image of the piece and the marks:

The marks are for Edinburgh 1936. The only maker I can think of is Edinburgh silversmith Thomas Kerr Ebbut - a specialist in Scottish clan jewellery etc.
