The AW is mistruck or worn but the indentation at the top left is repeated bottom right which can be more clearly seen at the Edinburgh Assay site where it is unidentified in 1847 and elsewhere it appears as unidentified in 1828 & 1843.

In Dieterts book Edinburgh Goldsmiths on page 152, if my eyes do not deceive me and I stand to be corrected, this mark appears alongside Andrew Wilkie.

A red herring is that an identical mark containing the initials JW appears on the Edinburgh Asssay site attributed to John Wilkie registered 1841-1878, though no record exists of any connection.

Has anybody any further information on this mark?

Having now read this post it's clear you've already found the Edinburgh AO site. The reference to the site in my reply today on your other post is now somewhat superfluous!
You may not have noticed there are two sets of notes on that site for Wilkie. The three images referred to in my other post can be called up by clicking on the "Possibly Andrew Wilkie" entry. The other information as to Morton probably being Wilkie's retailer and a note saying the mark in this post has been identified as Wilkie's comes from the main notes for him.

Thanks again.

Same excuse, failed to fully follow all the trails at Edinburgh Assay site.

The mark is shown as unidentified in the main index, but when you click on 'Andrew Wilkie' a worn mark which 'appears' the same is displayed, I was hoping somebody knows more, the mark shown by Dietert is also worn and also similar.

I think I will go with Andrew Wilkie unless more information comes to light.
