Help identifying year

Good day, hoping someone can help me figure out what year this was made. It is marked JR (John Round) with the crown and lion. The date is a stylized "g"

Looks like letter g for 1899.

i am visit the the above link to share image on forum but it will show me the error can you plz explain how i submit the image with link thanks.

Just click on the 'Choose Images' then select and open the the image. Don't forget to start a new topic with your question.
