Does anyone now who this Hallmark belongs to

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help with this hallmark, It is a Sheffield Hallmark dater 1779 it is sterling silver and the initials are not very clear, bit can make out .. First letter J. then cannot make out second letter as it is worn, then under that there is & S. in a shield shape,

I think the marks may be Canadian, but of course an imbedded image will tell the tale.
