Year of Manufacture - Tea Service

I have (I think) a sterling silver tea service. From information gained elsewhere in this forum I think it is sterling silver, Sheffield.
The year is 'P'.
Again from other refence sites I think P is 1884. However, the maker 'EV' is thought to be Viner who apparently were founded in the UK in 1900!
I am very much a novice at this so any help etc would be most appreciated. It has taken me ages to organise these two pictures!)
