Colonial Decanter Label

This wee label is silver and has been in a family for as long as current memory - over 80 years.

I had thought it was colonial given that the marks are similar to London or Great Britain Hallmarks of the 1820s. But as yet I have not been able to find anything similar. I would appreciate any help in identifying

(a) the maker - J.K. & Co.
(b) the place of origin

Hi M,

Welcome to the Forum.

Great item!

Your wine label was made at Sheffield. The maker was James Kirkby, Gregory & Co. of Carver Street, Sheffield. The year of assay was 1827.
