Hello All,

I was doing research on this item and I would like to know your thoughts since I ran acrross this site (first time).
This is a decanter with a sliver cap.
It has stamps of B&G, crown, lion and a h (lower case)

Now for my thoughts.
B&G = Brahmfeld & Gutruf
Crown = Sheffield
Lion = 925 sliver
h (lower case) = 1923 or 1863?
(and I don't think that stopper was meant for it)

Tell me what you think =)

Thank You
Phil

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the Forum.

The lower part of the maker's mark appears to have worn away, but it would have been 'B G' over '&' above 'Co Ld'', this was one of the marks registered to Boardman, Glossop & Co. Ltd. of Sheffield.

Tha date of assay was 1900. See: http://www.925-1000.com/dlc_sheffield.html

Trev.
