Tiny spoon

Shape of hallmarks don't seem to agree with ones online. Date and maker? And what would such a small spoon have been used for?

The marks are for Sheffield 1943-1944 and the maker is Atkin Brothers. I cannot comment acurately on it's use but it looks to be a teaspoon.

The firm of Atkin Brothers traces its establishment to Thomas Law in mid 18th century. It was succeeded by Henry Atkin and John Oxley trading as Atkin, Oxley & Co. In 1840 Henry Atkin continued the trade as Henry Atkin & Co at 32 Howard Street, Sheffield. After his death, his brothers Harry Wrigth Atkin, Edward Thomas Atkin and Frank Shaw Atkin continued the business as Atkin Brothers. The firm was converted in 1925 into a limited liability company under the style of Atkin Brothers (Silversmiths) Ltd. In 1958 the flatware business was sold to C J Vander of London and the holloware business to Adie Brothers of Birmingham.

Thank you for your reply. There are several surprising things I've learned. First, I assumed from the style (with the pronounced heel) and the visible aging that it was earlier. Perhaps it was a nostalgic re-make? Second, that they were making silver of any kind in England during the second world war (naive on my part, obviously). Third the small size for what must be a teaspoon - would that be because it was the war years, or did the size of teaspoons vary depending on the country and date? It's certainly smaller than any of the American coin silver spoons I have.
