I have a set of 6 Sheffield knives in their original box and I have identified the makers to Jacob and Samuel Roberts who worked in partnership between 1774 and 1787. The blades are marked ABBA, with a cross, and there is what I believe to be a date letter on the handle and a further mark. I cannot attribute these marks to the early Sheffield date letters, can anyone identify these marks and put an accurate date on the knives?
