Set of 6 butter knives

Postby chrismyers » Tue Oct 26, 2010 10:54 am

I have a set of six butter knives in a case & I am intrigued to find out more details.

I have worked out that the marks say that Sheffield Sterling.925

I cant find the maker HG.

Also I cant find the date mark that (rather than a letter) resembles a rune from "Lord Of The Rings".

Help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

The "rune" is an "X" used in 1915-6 in Sheffield.

HG=Henry Greaves.
