Unidentified silver bowl

Post by Gideon7 »

Can’t identify the hallmarks can someone help? It seems it’s from Sheffield but the first and last symbols are a loss to me

Yes, it's a Sheffield hallmark with the date letter "c" for the 1895/96 assay year. The first mark is the maker's mark; unfortunately it has been damaged by wear and polish and there is not enough left for me to identify it.

Next to the “c” there are etchings of some letters lightly engraved on the silver, what are they?

They look like inventory marks made by an owner.
