makers mark for a chester piece

can someone help me with the maker's mark which is J.M.B, and also why is there a flower stamped next to it?

Looks like the mark of John Millward Banks. Also had marks entered in Birmingham and London.

I have no idea what the flower mark is. I guess it could be a trademark, not sure.
