Dutch city date letters

Post by ilovespooning »

This Dutch spoon predates 1812 and uses a city mark, I believe it is Dordrecht.

I cannot find Dutch city date letters on any online resource, therefore, I have two questions.

1. Could someone help me date the spoon in the photo?

2. Are there any online resources for Dutch city marks? Or helpful books that would be worth purchasing?

Thank you.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for the information and resources. Very helpful!

Is the book you recommended in Dutch only, or in English?

Thanks again,

Aubs
