DUTCH SILVER FORK

Post by jason »

Hi

I would be grateful for any assistance in establishing the marks on this fork, I cant seem to get an accurate date from the site.

the makers mark appears to be D(?)W with two stars above
then a lion in a hexagon with '2' below
the a head facing left
then an unusual mark which looks like a 2 tilted left or a snake!

thank you

I'm sure someone will identify the maker, in the meantime you can find out more information by having a look at ->
Dutch Hallmarks

Hi Jason,

There is a makers mark DW with two clovers above, for M.S. de Wal & Co in Leeuwarden 1824-1833, also the F in the head is for the assay office in Leeuwarden. The last mark must be the date letter.
