Friesland 1752 Brandy Bowl?

Post by meyrink »

Hello experts!

Can I ask you on your opinion on this possibly Friesland Brandy Bowl dated back to 1752? I dont know anything about Dutch silver, so any help will be appriciated. Is the dating right, any information on the maker HB and the authenticity? There is no inscription, just found similar date letter online.

Thank you very much, meyrink

Hi, nice find. From left to right; the distorted town mark for the city of Sneek being three crowns, one above the other, in a crowned shield. The province mark of Friesland, two lions passant going to the left, in a crowned shield to denote first standard of silver 934/000 fine.
The maker's mark

HB script for: Haring Biltius, born 1721 in Sneek, registered 1744-1752, The year letter R for 1752.
For the city of Sneek see:
