Silver bag- mount also called purse frame or bag bracket and if not for a bag we call it purse mount. In the 17th and 18th century also little girls of well of parents had their own little child's bag-mount.

Bag-mount.
Closure mechanism for a bag, consisting of two brackets connected by hinges that can be folded together, causing the brackets to close. The bag bracket closes with a spring system, which is unlocked with a button on top or on the side of one of the brackets. At the top of the bag handle a button with an eye is attached to which a ring is attached, which forms the connection with the bag hook. A bag of fabric, beads or chainmail is attached to the bag -mount. The bag-mount often has one or two intermediate smaller brackets to divide the bag into two or three compartments. Silver bag-mounts are known from the second half of the seventeenth century to the twentieth century. The model of the bag- mount was determined by the prevailing fashion and the region where the bag was worn. Silversmiths used a wide variety of shapes and decorations for these fine silver bag-mounts. Often the province or place can be read from the shape and decorations; silver bag- mounts with engraved parrots from Schoonhoven, rich embossed mounts from Friesland and the heavy cast figurine (allegorical /biblical themes) mounts from Amsterdam. These antique shapes remained in fashion until the half of the 19th century, after which new shapes appeared. From the mid-nineteenth century, the bag mount was increasingly carried on a chain in the hand and the bag bracket got two eyelets at the top for the attachment of the chain. The bag mount today is now only part of the traditional costume.
In the twentieth century, a large number of bag mounts were converted into photo frames.

Dordrecht, only a few brackets from Dordrecht are known, all of which are a different type than Schoonhovense. First, the shape is clearly different while the engraved decor usually focuses on the flower, in this case parrots. Source; Nederlands Klein Zilver B.W.G. Wttewaall pagina 45 afb;29
