Hello. Having had a good look round the topics here and elsewhere without any luck, I would like some help in identifying the origin and if possible, the maker of this spoon. The right edge of the initals is missing but I think they must be MC, MO, MG or MQ. Bottom right is 'R8' with '2' underneath (R82). The right hand mark is unclear but looks to be a horse or lion running to the right with the top half of another identical one underneath(?). Any help would be much appreciated.

I bought some spoons with marks very like yours. Here is the thread:

All are marked with VB, three are marked with MG and three with the horse. As with yours, the imprint of the marks can be seen on the inside of the bowl: a bad sign.

The RS 2 could fit the makers marks of R. Scheltens in Groningen (1859- ?) or R.J. Spaanstra in Drachten (1861 - ?).
The rest of the marks are fake hallmarks used at the end of the 19th century (1875 - 1910) just to make items look older.
