Hi Imallier,

The coat of arms/crest of Leiden consists of 2 crossed keys; therefore they are an often seen symbol in Leiden. The keys are the symbol of the patron of the city Saint Petrus. Crossed keys Leiden silver 1st standard or ‘grote keur’ 934/000. Leiden first mentioned in 1661 the single key with combined year letter for 2nd standard silver or ‘kleine keur’ 833/000. The year letter could be above, next and under the key.

I believe the year letter to be the script t for Leiden 1753.

Hi Peter

In this alphabet, there is only 25 of the 26 used.
The letter I and J stands for one letter.
Each alphabet has a different type of letter.
There are no examples in the book of the letter I / J or T
As a basis point I chose the letter F who portrayed

As you can see they have opted for a straight line and assume that this was supposed to be the case with the letter T
It therefore seemed logical to me that the letter I / J it was departing.
I noticed in your note some caution.
But I am very flexible and pliable mood today.
I give you the benefit of the doubt :))))))

Thanks Dendriet and Peter.
I'll let you challenge yourselves between I and T but I feel it is a I ;-)
Cheers.
