Dutch "FB9" Mark Assistance Silver Flatware

Hi I was hoping that someone out there could help me out with the following query:

I am trying to identify the Maker/Manufacturer. I've done research and been able to determine the two middle marks (thanks to your wonderful website) but regarding the FB9 in a square/rectangle I am coming up empty. I believe the last mark (the "F" in a circle to refer to the year "1915") but if anyone has an expert opinion on this as well I'd be grateful...

Hi Mike, welcome to the Dutch forum. The maker's mark F.B. above 9 is for: Frans (François) Brugsma, registered in Groningen from 1880-1931
The firm of Frans Brugsma, jeweler and goldsmith, is well known. Very good silversmith and supplier to the Royal Dutch Court, who won several prices. The spoon is assayed in The Hague in 1915, the Minerva head's helmet or assay office mark has the regional assay office letter C for The Hague. For more information about the (hall)marks) see:

As always a big heartfelt thank you for your expertise in this field & taking the time to answer in such detail. So is the "9" part of what identifies the silversmith Frans Brugsma or is it refer to something else?

Hi Mike,

FB and the number 9 is part of Frans Brugsma maker's mark, to distinguishes the difference with other FB marks, identifying other silversmiths.
