Hi David,

yes Dutch silver, maker’s mark Johannes van Straten, registered in the city of Hoorn from 1894-1901, date letter Gothic D for the year 1900.

Hi David,

Looking at the image of the object, there appears to be something missing on the handle due to the excessive amount of thread that is exposed on the bottom of the central bolt. Perhaps the handle had a couple of glass/ceramic/ivory collars as spacers and these have now become broken/lost?
