Hi everybody,
I have this silver box, maybe Dutch, 18th century, but I didn't found anything about the hallmarks.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks !
18th Dutch silver box ?
Re: 18th Dutch silver box ?
Hi Vervene,
The 3rd mark right hand corner, shield with four lion’s rampant facing left; the guild city mark of Schoonhoven, 1st mark left is the date letter G for 1800, 2nd mark, the maker’s mark appears to be a shield with a 'diagonal' bar for: Jan van Eck registered May 1793- 1811 died 1825. Jan van Eck known box and miniature maker with two known maker's mark; the shield 'diagonal' bar and VE conjoined.
Gratitude; Zilversmeden van de stad Schoonhoven
