Year letter C (?) with 5 pointed star and maker's mark.
Suspect that's the guild period.
At this moment I am not in a position to watch in my books
Maybe someone will recognize this.

Perhaps I can help you out. ‘Star above O’; combination mark of city guild mark Maastricht and date letter also known as; ‘kleine keur’ = 9 deniers, ende derthiengreijnen = 795.08/1000 fineness, the date letter O used; 19 September1788- 4 September 1792.
Maker’s mark PN Crowned for; Petrus Lambertus Nijst, baptist in Maastricht (St. Nic.) 23 January 1757, as son of silver smith Petrus Nijst (1727), and died Maastricht, 23 July 1818. In 1771, 2nd of January, registered as trainee silversmith under his father, became master smith as of 6th June 1786, Chief Master Smith & Assayer of the Maastricht guild 1792-1798.

As you can guess, I had my suspicion that it was good, but also had some doubts.

It was a weird day yesterday, and i could feel that the spring did its work.

The reason I had my doubts was the mirror writing letter N.
Afterwards without reasons ( see photo )
However, it is not Peter Lambert Nijst ,

but his father : Nijst , Peter

Baptized in Maastricht ( St.Nic ) Oct 25 , 1727.
Son of Peter and Maria Margaretha Nypels .
Deceased there April 9, 1813 without recourse .
Married there ( St.Nic ) Sep 22, 1748 Anna Maria Nypels .
Lived in Mary Street No. 2 .
Mar 15, 1751 showed his specimen
Reigning Master 1758/1760
Judge + 1758/1760
Elder 1762/1788 .
Pupil : Lambertus Genix registered 25 feb.1756
a student is not mentioned by name , registered May 26, 1761
His son John Francis Xavier , registered Nov 3, 1763
His son Peter Lambert, registered Jan 2, 1771.

It is not the date letter O , but letter C (Star above C )
21 Oct 1766-18 okt/19 Dec 1768

For the record , I will both hallmarks of father and son are shown

Yes I goofed and mixed up the father with the son. Upon closer inspection I agree with your date letter being a C under a star. It is always better to have the object in hand instead of staring at images, PN under a crown for Petrus Nijst active 1751-1788.
