Hi Elena,

What makes you believe the item is Dutch? Please show all the marks.

Regards,

Oel

Hello, dear Oel.

My item bears the Holland mark Z II that is used for indication of the fineness of used object.

Dear Elena,

Z mark for used items, finished goods, both domestic and foreign, that were already circulating in the trade, with otherwise no valid Dutch hallmark. The Netherlands Assay Office sometimes referred to these items as used objects. As complete assaying procedures could damage a finished item, a new set of three Z marks was initiated for use on silver items that had undergone a limited assay. In 1953 ZI for 925 fineness and ZII for 835 fineness and in 1987 Z for 800 fineness.
Your item most likely is not made in the Netherlands but imported to the Netherlands and assayed in the Netherlands.

Regards,

Oel
