Need Help Identifying marks for Bridge Ashtray Set

Postby alinabruk » Sat Sep 25, 2010 11:40 pm

I found this beautiful set of four (4) ashtrays each depicting a wonderfully chased Card Suit. I believe the ashtrays are silverplate.
If anybody can provide more information regarding country of manufacture & maker, that would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Dear Oel,

Thank you so much for the information. I was under impression that it was a silverplate & English in origin. How far off I was.

I really appreciate your time & information.

Kind Regards,
Alina

Just as a note, from your pictures, see no indication of chasing, the decoration appears to be die-struck.

I suspect these were cast, if the backsides were shown, it would likely prove/disprove it.

Dear Salmoned,

Thank you for your information as well. I am adding a photo of the back of all four ashtrays.

They are cast, as Salmoned suggested and as most similar pieces are - nicely made little set.
