Help identify Dutch mark???? Snuff Box???

Postby Bassetthound » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:01 pm

I have what I believe to be a Sterling Silver Snuff Box with a Dutch Mark? It is a lion with a key. It also has 2 other marks. One mark is either a cursive W or M in a circle and the other mark looks like it is a MA. Snuff box has 2 different scenes the one shown is the back with the mark of the lion.

The mark you're showing only tells us it is Dutch silver made for export, nothing more. Please show the other marks.

Dutch Mark?? Snuff Box??

Postby Bassetthound » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:58 pm

I have tried and tried to picture the other 2 marks and can't picture them with my camera. They are so small you can't see them in the photo. They are on the inside lip of the snuff box and it is so hard to picture them. Thanks for your help.

I finally got the pictures of the maker's mark and the date. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help us identify. This is the 2 marks off of the Sterling Silver Dutch Snuff Box previously posted.

I believe the date mark to either be a monogramed M or W. I think the maker's mark reads MA or HA. You can see the marks but they are hard to decipher.
